    Kolkata is formerly known as Calcutta, is the capital of West Bengal in India. It is located on the east bank of the River Hooghly. It is the second largest city after Mumbai in India.     Howrah Junction railway station is the oldest station, situated in Howrah, Howrah District, West Bengal. It is one of the four intercity railway stations, situated on the west bank of the Hooghly River, and connected to Kolkata by Howrah Bridge. Howrah Junction is the biggest railway building in India. It has currently 23 platforms in Howrah Station.     Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (IATA: CCU, ICAO: VECC) was earlier known as Dum Dum Airport before being renamed after Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a prominent leader of Indian freedom movement. It is located in 20 km distance from the city center and serving the Kolkata metropolitan area. This Airport is a major point for flights to North-East India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China and Southeast Asia. Air India connects to destination places such as Agartala, Aizawl, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Durgapur Gaya, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Mumbai, Port Blair, Silchar. IndiGo Airlines connects to Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bagdogra, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam. Approximately more than 10 million passengers are visited in this airport.
